Focused, Disciplined, and Ready for What’s Next.

My professional identity is rooted in the work I do as a student: analyzing data, studying financial decisions, and learning how strong businesses operate. I approach my education with intention, discipline, and a desire to understand the mechanics behind effective strategy. Whether I’m building a model, interpreting information, or breaking down complex ideas, I’m driven by clarity and purpose. These experiences form the foundation of the career I’m working toward in finance and shape the standard I hold myself to both inside and outside the classroom.

My Academic Journey

My academic journey began with circumstances that demanded resilience long before I ever opened a textbook. During my first year of college, I underwent a tibial tubercle osteotomy (TTO) and meniscus repair, followed by a second meniscus surgery just months later. The recovery process kept me in a straight leg brace for nearly five months combined, unable to walk or drive, and ultimately confined to bed for the entirety of my first semester. Learning how to walk again through intensive physical therapy became a daily reality, and so did learning how to be disciplined.

With nothing in my control except my effort, I poured myself into my education. I enrolled in full course loads at Miramar College, taking six classes each term, and taught myself macroeconomics, microeconomics, business statistics, and other foundational subjects entirely online. What began as a necessity quickly became a source of confidence. I maintained a 4.0 GPA for two years, proving to myself that commitment and consistency can turn even the most difficult circumstances into meaningful progress.

My interest in finance had always been present. I grew up watching my father work as a financial advisor and portfolio manager, listening to the language of markets, planning, and strategy as naturally as any other part of daily life. Being around that environment gave me a comfort with financial thinking early on, but my academic journey, shaped through discipline, adversity, and independence, is what made me take ownership of it for myself.

Transferring to the University of San Diego marked the beginning of a new chapter. Encouraged by close friends who already attended USD, I applied without expectation and was stunned not only to be admitted, but also to receive an academic scholarship. Opening that acceptance letter is a moment I will never forget. It represented a major shift in my life, from recovering to rebuilding and from managing circumstances to creating new opportunities.

Arriving at USD changed everything. After years of online coursework and limited mobility, being surrounded by motivated peers, strong faculty, and a campus that values academic rigor reshaped my mindset. I felt energized by the environment, inspired to push myself further, and aware that this was where my future was truly taking shape. Over the last two years at USD, I have grown academically, professionally, and personally more than at any other time in my life. I am finding my voice, sharpening my identity, and learning to pursue what I want without hesitation.

My academic journey is defined not by the obstacles I faced, but by the discipline and purpose that developed because of them. That foundation now shapes everything I do as I continue preparing for a future in finance.

Leadership: Turning Point USA

Founding the Turning Point USA chapter at USD has been one of the most meaningful, challenging, and defining leadership experiences of my college career. As a brand-new chapter still growing its presence, much of our early work has focused on establishing credibility, building structure, and finding members who are confident in their beliefs and willing to rise above public opinion. That process has taught me how to lead with clarity, communicate across many different groups, and remain grounded in purpose rather than approval.

Although we are still working to become fully established on campus, we have already begun connecting with other chapters and attending events across San Diego, such as UCSD’s recent Alex Clark event. The support from the local community has been tremendous. Businesses owned by USD alumni, like Invita Coffee, and others such as Saltwater Riders in Lakeside, have stood behind us even when it cost them socially. Their encouragement has reinforced the importance of staying firm in what I believe and leading with integrity.

Serving as Founder and President has strengthened my confidence, sharpened my communication skills, and taught me how to navigate leadership in an environment where conviction matters. It has pushed me to grow into someone who stands strong, creates structure where none exists, and leads with intention, resilience, and authenticity.
